shorter days, darker evenings, strong winds whipping the last of the rust colored leaves off their branches, piling them onto the flower beds to keep the recently planted bulbs comfy cozy for the winter.
this week we spent drying flowers to adorn our wooden wreath. ate slices of bakery bread like we were bears preparing for hibernation. dried orange slices to make a garland for our christmas tree. yes, it’s up already. get over it, party pooper!
(isn’t catherine o’hara just one of the best actresses out there?)
i don’t know about you, but the month of november always makes me crave nancy and nora. meyers and ephron, that is. my own little bulbs have cuddled up under the chartreuse chenille blanket all comfy cozy with me a lot this past week to watch father of the bride 1 and 2, baby boom, and you’ve got mail. (i’m also a sucker for anything with diane keaton and meg ryan, as you can tell.)
another week down at napa and graham is the cutest lunch date a mom could ask for. he lets me go to all the girlie restaurants with brass lighting and granite counters and pimento cheese sandwiches and all he requires is a chocolate chip cookie after we’ve finished our meal.
mimi and i also had our own little date day last friday. we did all the girlie things. manicures, starbucks, shopping for shoes, anthropologie (obvs), and… here’s my favorite… a visit to the denver art museum.
mimi wore a turquoise sweater set and fell in love with monet’s waterlilies and recreated it with acrylics afterwards. i’m obsessed with her.
random love:
all of lesley manville’s clothes in magpie murders on pbs masterpiece.
every cardigan sweater out there.
all the natalie merchant in november.
every bit of this vegetarian stew looks delicious.

Warm, inviting fall wreath, beautiful thanksgiving tree…..makes me want to sing, “Come Little Leaves”……. but best of all are those two cuties curled up in bed! Miss that snuggling so much! 🍁🥰
Comfy cozy…that sounds familiar. There’s no better phrase.
